Dra. Maria Teresa Estrach

Professor of Surgical and Clinical Dermatology and Venerology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona.
She was born in Girona in1950. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in Medicine and Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona (1967-1973). She obtained her PhD in Medicine in 1978. Specialist in Dermatology and Venerology since 1976.
She has taken part and organized many national and international congresses, and has lectured in several Medical Education symposia. She has published more than a hundred papers in national and international journals. Her research interests are focused on cutaneous oncology, specially cutaneous lymphomas and carcinomas. She has also been involved in more than 15 research projects.
Member of several scientific societies: member of the Catalan and Balearic Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (ACMCB); member of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (AEDV); Co-founder of the spanish group of Children´s Dermatology; member of the Iberian-Latinamerican Society of Dermatology; member of the ESDR (European Society for Dermatological Research); member of the EORTC Cutaneous Lymphoma Group; Coordinator of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Net; Spanish delegate in the EORTC Cutaneous Lymphoma Group; member of the ISCL (The International Society for Cutaneous Lymphomas); member of the AMSE ( Association of Medical Schools in Europe) and member of the AMEE ( Association for Medical Education in Europe).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Josep Antoni Bombí Latorre

He obtained his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona in 1971 and his PhD at the same university in 1973. Since 1974 he has been an specialist in Pathology. He´s also obtained a degree in Hospital Management. He is an expert in electronic microscopy and digestive pathology, fields in which he develops his professional and research activities.

Professor of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona. Senior consultant for Pathology at the Clinic Hospital in Barcelona. Responsible for the Electronic Microscopy Unit.

President of the Catalan and Balearic Academy of Medical Sciences (ACMCB). Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona from 1995 to 2001. President of the Spanish Deans Conference of Medical Schools during the academic year 2000-2001. Member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia.

 

 

Jaume Mestre

Student in his fifth year of Medicine, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona.

He knew AECS in summer ’04 thanks to an stay in a lab at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Monterrey, Méjico). He started to work in Reproductive Health and AIDS in 2006, beginning the local coordinator of SCORA in his faculty. One year later, he was the national coordinator of the Working Group of Reproductive Health and AIDS up to he was selected as President of AECS in October ’07.
